Job Description

The position  requires employing DevOps practices in an both  “hard iron” and “cloud” environments developing, maintaining, migrating, and supporting operations of custom, COTS, and integrated software solutions.  This position is responsible for tasks related to the areas of database logical and physical design, application and database builds, Oracle stored procedures development, data import/export, migration, performance monitoring, data lifecycle management in a Unix Linux Oracle and Windows environment.  Some AWS experience is desired.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  This position will work closely with all business groups and the individual must have experience such that they can operate on same level of knowledge as the business groups. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,and/or ability required.
    •Participate in cloud infrastructure planning and implementation

    •Designs and builds relational databases. Performs data access analysis/design, and archive/recovery design and implementation

    •Provides support for management of large databases, providing backup and recovery strategies, collaborating with development teams, performing maintenance and optimization, as well as importing and exporting data

    •Read data models, create and implement database scripts for physical implementation, build deploy DB scripts in development, QA, staging, and production environments

    •Work collaboratively with Application Architects, Project Managers, and Business Owners to develop the database model and design.

    •Agile/Scrum methodology experience is a plus.

    •Contributes to system development and deployment activities to ensure that database systems

    •Assist the Architects and Project Managers in the full  software development life cycle

    •Work closely with the Infrastructure, Operation, and Developer staffs as needed to help troubleshoot and maintain production databases and to resolve production outages

    •Support Installs, and configure, and troubleshoot applications in an Cloud environment

Basic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; undergraduate degree; with emphasis in Computer Science, or IT is a plus
    •5 years of overall experience in the analysis, design, and development of applications, infrastructure, with at least 3 years of Oracle databases experience at 11g or higher, some MS SQL Server or other database a plus; Oracle 12C is a plus

    •Experience implementing DevOps principles

    •At least 3 years of Unix/Linux operating environment including some administration, scripting is required;, and Solaris is a plus.

    •Experience in logical database modeling and physical database design

    •Proficiency with SQL and database procedural languages

    •Knowledge of distributed databases, ETLs, a plus,

    •Some scripting language experience (sh, bash, python, perl, etc)

Skills/Experience that are a strong plus:
    •Experience with deployment and configuration management automation

    •One or more AWS Certifications, experience with AWS, AWS FedRamp requirements

    •Systems monitoring using OEM; Oracle Management Cloud; containerization strategies

    •Experience in programming with .Net and other web-based programming environments

    •Experience in agile scrum methodology and management tools

    •Industry experience in mortgage loan; mortgage backed securities, common security platforms, student loan industry
